- 1 The release drops. USDA publishes on its own schedule: WASDE monthly, Crop Progress on Mondays in season. We work off that calendar, not ours.
- 2 We read the primary document. Not the coverage, not somebody's recap. The agency's own release edition, pulled the day it publishes.
- 3 We chart it and write the so-what. Each chart answers one question a grower actually has: sell or store, ahead or behind, tighter or looser than last year.
- 4 It lands in your inbox. Free brief on release day. Deep-dive packs when the big monthly reports hit.
The fine print, up front. Some releases are boring; we say so and show the chart anyway. Every figure cites its source and release date. If we cannot verify a number, it does not appear. There is always variance in this data, and pretending otherwise is how you lose a reader's trust in one issue.
